Siniakova and Zhang won the title in straight sets, 3 & 4, so remaining dominant. Reaching the SF is a great achievement.

I see Siniakova sits top of the race with Taylor Swift. Is she swapping partners to Zhang generally, for the US Open? Or is this just a temporary move?

Not sure why Taylor Townsend isn't playing doubles this week. She was in the singles.
As a pair they were the first to qualify for the finals. I don't think S + Z could collect enough points to qualify thus giving S a difficult decision (or does she even get a choice ?)

Well, with this title, S and Z move to 1500 points and just 500/600 off 8th spot. Id say if they did play together there is enough big events to make up the difference , Cinci, USO, Beijing, Wuhan.

as to what happens if a player qualifies in two pairs, there must be some rule? Id guess she may have to commit to the pair that got most points? Which would almost certainly be Townsend and her.
