I notice Joanna Garland is in qualifying although her ranking has fallen in recent times. Similarly former champion Andreescu.

When I made this comment wasn't expecting to see Joanna playing in the final round of qualifying against Fran.

Amazing to see an all Brit final round match.

How do Heather and Harriet get on? Feels like this match could be one of high emotions, hope they can both do themselves justice.

And good to see Fran with what appears a winnable match for a place in the main draw.

OK, I cashed out my Boluda to win bet that I put on as Heather served for it.

Now win the MTB, Heather.

Great job - a couple of 'expected' names in that six, and a couple of real suprises

Sorry, it had to be done. 12/1 and it was Heather bless. It was extremely patriotic ( and beneficial ) that I then cashed out for effectively a bit less than half that before the MTB.

Arguably two given Garland is from Stevenage even though she plays for Chinese Taipei (Taiwan).

Think Heather gets on with everyone. Sure they have played doubles together too

Yes, they have played together. They won the W100 in Gifu this year, but you have to go back to 2023 when they previously played together (whole grass-court season)

 The BBC says:

"That set up a meeting with her frequent doubles partner Dart"

My emphasis.

That's just typical of the BBC - they have played together so they must be frequent doubkes partners !

Well to be fair if I am reading Lambda's very helpful website correctly Heather has partnered Harriet more often in the last year (twice) than she has partnered anyone else although not vice versa since Harriet's most frequent buddy is Maia.

Yes, that is correct. But the time before that was Wimbledon 2023 !

We have to remember that as far as the BBC is concerned it's only Wimbledon that counts!!
