Rankings as at 17/08 (latest available on the WTA website)

Section 3
QR1:- Francesca Jones (GBR) WR104 [3] v Nuria Brancaccio (ITA) WR191

Section 6
QR1:- Claire Liu (USA) WR114 [6] v Heather Watson (GBR) WR443 [SR]

QR1:- Jordyn Hazelitt (USA) WR1296/16yo/JR23=CH v Harriet Dart (GBR) WR143 [29]

Section 10
QR1:- Jodie Burrage (GBR) WR739 [SR] v Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales (ESP) WR211

Section 13
QR1:- Katie Swan (GBR) WR205 v Katrina Scott (USA) WR242 [WC]

Pity that Heather and Harriet are drawn in the same section.

That looks like a very favourable set of draws, most worried about Katie given she's short of match time, one match since wimbledon i think ...

Which of these players had wins last year in USO main or qualies?

Good set of draws. Heather is so hard to predict at the moment, she could absolutely beat Liu but equally could lost 10 games in a row from a break up the first.

Pretty shameful of the USTA to make Liu (who made R2 at RG and R3 at Wimbledon) go through qualifying instead of Venus.

Liu won junior Wimbledon in 2017.

Our players in last year's main draw were Emma, Katie B, Sonay and Fran. Only Emma made it through R1. Fran came through quals.

I notice Joanna Garland is in qualifying although her ranking has fallen in recent times. Similarly former champion Andreescu.

4 of the 5 here were our players in qualifying in 2025. Katie was still fairly early on her comeback trail then.

Fran, as q1 seed, won her 3 qualifying matches to qualify before losing to Eva Lys in MD R1.

Harriet won her QR1 match against the q13 seed before losing in QR2

Jodie won her QR1 match before losing to the q18 seed in QR2

Heather lost in QR1

So Fran has a few points to defend, Jodie and Heather have a chance to jump up the rankings in qualies and Katie is gaining points regardless before the defence of her points from last autumn in australia while Harriet won't move much unless she makes main draw

Can someone tell me please:

Does NOW (Sky Sports) have ALL the quali matches livestreamed? Or just a couple of courts?
