Is there definitely a rankings update before the draw comes out?
While there will presumably be an update after Montreal, at least by 17/08, I would assume that that will be the one used for US Open Qualifying seedings rather than the 24/08 update. So the points that Harriet and others are adding here and points coming off next week would be irrelevant.

will her +18 points go on for qualifying in Cincinnati or will thay not be added until after the Final. These 10 day 1000's are causing so much confusion.
Qualifying points never go on ahead of MD points, irrespective of any 10 day issues here. The qualifying points will be added after the final when the MD points are added.
y biggest bug bear is still not adding ITF points for 15/25 level events until a week later.
People used to argue it was to give the tournament directors time to file etc, but every tournament is reported live on all sorts of betting and other sites, all the scores are known to the second and the ranking implications of those instantaneously understood. There is zero reason why an ITF ranking should not just go on like all other events, in the update each Monday straight after the final is completed.
I have raised this before and just don't understand why the ITF can't make a simple change. They managed to deal with structural changes in covid times and I am sure they can deal with the double counting of events in the crossover season in some way - cant be too difficult a task even if it does raise some questions on how to manage it
Would you want an entire rankings update delayed though because one 15K final is completed on a Monday because of rain?
No - you just add that one event later. Surely. Those that finish on time just go on the next day. Dont see how or why that is an issue or any different to all the other ITF or challengers or main tour events. Surely should be same for all tournies?

There are provisions in the rulebooks already for over-running tournaments, so they could easily amend the procedure to include the W35 and W15 tournaments.
No idea - whatever works best. Im not a rankings process guru. One week if that works better. But still add the other 12 or whatever events take place if they finish on time.
I don't have one, just watching the news for once after the athletics finished - this is irrelevant stuff.
it is - and its a bad news evening. second train crash (or incident) in a matter of weeks, sad and feel for those involved. Fires across the West Midlands.
Katie B broke in the 1st game, played one point on her own service and play was suspended due to drizzle and a slippy court. At present they are in a holding area in case it dries up.
