A deafening silence as our guys+ get beaten. Indeed all fall down re the potential all 'proper' doubles players SFs I pointed to earlier.

Seemed apparent not what most of us wanted at all, with an element of show up these singles players combining to make up star name scratch doubles pairs ( the doubles players were scratch pairs too of course but were still very significant and hopefully adaptable doubles players ). And tbf I reckon some folk would have been all over this thread if results had been rather different. But not to be.

Probably true although, for me, I wasnt around last night and so didnt really pay much attention to the tennis as I was at the Edinburgh Festival. It was hard to know what to write, other than disappointing so didnt bother!

Ah, the Edinbirgh Festival. Less than a week to go and we get our city back

The walk from Newington into Princes Street along South Bridge is quite busy, a glance up the Royal Mile and that's silly busy.

Indeed, it was heaving. We went to an event at the McEwen Hall, so not far from Newington really, a walk anyway, but all over it was silly busy! We are staying up at George Street area (daughter works at the Kimpton Hotel in the Baba Restaurant there so gets a v nice room discount that we take advantage of at IHG hotels!) and it was still buzzing at past midnight - Ubers very hard to find!

The big bridge over the railway, from Princes Street up towards.High Street / Royal Mile is North Bridge. South Bridge is the very much smaller ( and less noticeable, seemingly just part of the street ) historic bridge / street the other side of High Street, over the Cowgate, bridging the old valley between High Street and Newington etc beyond.
