Weeks 35 & 36 - US Open - Flushing Meadows, New York City, NY, USA (hard)

Jake missed an overhead (as in missed the ball!!) at the net on match point 40-15. Couple double faults later and now he has been broken, nooooooo

Ballboy needs sacking. Fancy laughing in the face of a player after that.

Finally!

L128:  (LL) Jacob Fearnley WR 101 defeated Martín Landaluce (ESP) WR 65 by 4-6 6-2 4-6 7-5 6-3 in four hours & 10 minutes   ban-woohoo.gif

Jake's middle name must be Houdini after Landaluce served for the match at 5-2 in the fourth!   Then Jake served a double fault twice when he was serving for the match at 5-1 in the fifth!

*****

L64:  (27) Tomás Martín Etcheverry (ARG) WR 32 (CH = 25 in May) vs (LL) Jacob Fearnley WR 101

Thank Lord for that - he would have had nightmares about that for years otherwise

Mind you, Landaluce will have nightmares about leading 5-2 and failing to close it out

Great job by our Lucky Loser

Great win for Jake, really pleased. The double faults continue to be a big concern, right now who cares!

And again. And again. And again. And eventually wins the game to win the set.

 Weren't they brilliant?

You've got to laugh

There he is, playing percentage tennis, moving the ball around, and suddenly he decides to go for broke on the return game, nothing to lose

Such an entertaining match. Havent seen Harry play before - bit the bullet with a NOWTV sub for a month but too late for the qualifiers. silly mistake!
