I have so been enjoying watching Loffers this week

The boy is still utterly allergic to coming to the net

But one of the LTA bods there last time was saying George's forehand is the strongest/fastest of anyone at the NTC - he's the top guy

It certainly packs a punch ....

It's going to be tricky against the Italian though - he's been playing well

Great to see George get through although disappointed JoMo didnt do a bit better

Have you been attending the event, CD? And last weeks? What are the crowds like for an event like this, Im imagining its not much better than an ITF at the same venue, but am happy to be pleasantly surprised!

I've gone a couple of times each week

No, the 'crowds' are no different to their ITFs - the NTC don't publicise it, and no one really cares whether it's an M25 or an ATP50 - there's not even that much difference half the time.

I'm always surprised that there aren't more tennis youngsters watching - I don't think I saw any player of 14 or 15, say, watching the tennis. There are quite a lot of ball kids and some of those are also tennis players, I know. But most are a bit younger. I would expect to see some serious juniors watching but not one..... (or not on the days that I was there, anyway)... which is a shame, and bizarre - it's a useful learning experience, it's interesting and, after all, if you're dead into tennis, why wouldn't you go?

and it is still the school hols for both weeks, so you would have thought some of those kids would be kicking around and a bit bored!!
