Has Klimovicova thrown the towel in or has she picked up an injury because she's barely moving for some of Alicia's shots. Alicia up *4-1 in the decider and looking to be in control
Really gutsy win for Alicia coming from a set and a break to win! We have an all british QF as she'll face Katie next and I'm excited for that match
Indeed, a very interesting match-up. I'll be trying to watch that one.
Our GB #6 and #7, clearly quite a few steps behind our top 5 but both with potential big upsides to their rankings - Katie with what she can produce when largely fit and well, if she can stay largely fit and well, and Alicia by at least continuing on that steady upward curve she has been on for the last 15 months or so.
Katie breaks at 5-5 and holds serve to take the first set 7-5. She is having an MTO though it looks like it's for strapping on her leg (it was already strapped). It's been a close and competitive match so far as we hoped, very good standard from both our ladies
Yes, a MTO at the end of the set, while ALicia went for a bathroom break. Katie seemed to be feeling her leg at the start of the match, but has been moving well so I would think the strapping is precautionary and she took the opportunity to have it adjusted.
Katie is about to serve for the match, Alicia was a break up but Katie got onto the front foot more and Alicia's serve deserted her in game 9. I think Swan's use of angles has been hard for Alicia to deal with even though I think Alicia is the bigger hitter
Alicia having got on top in the more bitty stakes, Katie to serve for the match at *5-4
I missed the first set. I'm guessing it must have been much better.

The first set was much more like the penultimate point, rallies and working the court. Strong win for Katie though, I thought if her body held up she'd have the edge over Alicia and it's great to see she's still ok after playing a few tournaments in portugal
