Alicia has turned things around in the second, was a break down early but now on serve 4-3*

5 games on the bounce from 3-1 down sees Alicia win 6-2 6-3

It took Alicia a remarkably long 1.5 hours to win 6-2 6-3

But she did win in the end

So all's good

Second set was an hour, there was a 15 minute spell where Alicia's level dropped and it took a couple of long games for her to get back on track but I still expect her to win the tournament in this field

Excellent !

Dani clocks up what I think is her first ever singles victory in adults

And a top-1000 win, against someone who was previously top-250

And playing very nicely, 6-4 6-2

Been a major fan of Alicia since age 17 on grass, so it would be lovely for her to win here, but I'm not sure she's fully back yet - she's had a lot of three set matches recently, matches that she should have found easier

Should be a senior ranking for Dani. She should have 1 point from Ilkley WTA 125 MD R1 loss and 2 points from Wimbledon QR1 loss ( though the WTA site doesn't seem to recognise her Wimbledon outing ). So that would now be 7 points from 3 counters.

Mika won the 1st set 6-3 and Sophie won the 2nd set. This has been followed by a MTO for one of the players.

Mika went off for treatment at 2-5 in the second set. Sophie then had a MTO at the end of the set.

I think Jodie will have too much for Eliz, sammmm

But, like you, am interested to see Mika v Sophie

Although, in my experience, Mika always raises the bar significantly when she plays a GB player - as though she has a point to make

So definitely expecting Mika to win

More curious though to see how the two Dani-s pair up - I'm seriously hoping that our one can get one over on Latvia's attempt

Edie and Lois have a lot to play for, as do Amelie and Indi

Shame the LL spot didn't go to one of ours - there were enough of them !

Jodie did indeed have too much for Eliz - it was reasonably one-sided

And Mika obviously came through, in an uninspiring match, but hey....

Tomorrow is another day

I believe that Amelie and her partner Kate retired in their match
