Week 42 - WTA250 - Osaka, Japan - Hard

Waste of an opportunity for Harriet and Hev. Losing 7-6(5) 7-5. Pulled back deficits in both sets only to waste opportunities to go ahead, including two set points at 5-4* in the first from 1-4* down.

I think Katie will be back as UK no.1 with another win this week.

I agree, though the statement on BBC article is slightly confusing........ The 30-year-old lost the British number one spot to Sonny Kartal on Monday, but is set to retake the position following her run this week.

Yes, one more win, ie. through to the SF, for Katie to be back as GB #1 and probably back inside the top 50.

The most disturbing aspect of the BBC article for me was "The 30-year-old". Time flies too quickly

That BBC statement is in a different article to the one your link goes to. It's here

Very easy win for Katie. This is wide open. If her serve holds up she has a very good chance to win the whole thing.

Always a decent amount of points and money to be picked up as the season draws to a close and the better players tend to not bother.

Better players dont stay the course. Like Iga, Emma etc. Players need more R and R now. Tough game.
