Finn's won the first set against Loffers on a tiebreak. Wasn't expecting that!
Wow, that is a surprise.
I commented on Finn's lack of singles activity/prowess a few weeks ago and was advised I had clearly not paid enough attention - I am now and he does seem to be making more headway than I had understood!
It wasn't a question of Finn's singles prowess, which no-one argued for and hasn't been great in any comparison to his doubles ( singles WR 921 and this will be his first singles SF in over a year ) but just the activity with you wondering if he really played much singles at all any more when basically he plays singles every week he is competing.
It was a surprise that he and Marcus Walters ( the top seeds ) lost their doubles QF yesterday.

Well, maybe the fact he lost early a lot explains my lack of attention!! And although he has got through today, it appears Loffers was injured and his "victory" was due to that as opposed to some sharp uptick in form!
Nonetheless, into the semis and presumably a decent jump from that WR921 level as a result.
Good set of results there, wasnt anticipating Patrick winning and Paul - well, his form hasn't been good recently
So, an all GB last 4, that is good to see as it wasn't necessarily something that I expected despite it being a home event.
Looking at them, you have to think Oli is a clear favourite. But Paul v Patrick could be interesting, despite the big ranking gap. Patrick actually thrashed Paul in Nottingham in May, 1 and 3. (realise these posted above, just posting again below to follow my comments)
SF: (7) Paul Jubb WR 391 vs Patrick Brady WR 693
SF: Finn Murgett WR 921 vs (2) Oliver Tarvet WR 289
