Gosh, that's going to be a high profile match smile

Fabulous match and opportunity! Love seeing players in these types of matches. Not all about winning, the experience is ten times better than a 10 percent full Welsh border town would give her!

Mika is missing Glasgow as well. MIka also needs ranking points from somewhere unless she is going to perform well at Tokyo. At the moment Heather is ranked higher than Mika.

She doesn't "need" ranking points. She can build those over the next year. It's not a sprint. prople seem obsessed with short term rankings and points, it's not the only thing and a good player will gain them, if they're good enough.

Yes, she's only 17
Not even a full schedule yet
What she needs is to have sorted out her coaching set-up and for her, them, her agents and the LTA all to be in a good place going forward

Agree. If not a sound team behind her she may follow other former high performing juniors such as Mimi and Ella and go the college route  - so always options. Following Ella it just shows how you need to give young players time to mature at their own speed. I do think Mika is blessed with tennis savvy parents though.

Apart from Jeremy Bates who is her coaching set up?.

I think with the right set-up Mika could turn things round again very well, similar to how Hannah has. The talent is clearly there, and I think can flourish in the right environment. I suspect college will not be for her.

For now a great experience here, and just go for it, Mika.
