Wonderful news, really pleased for Harriet! Ive found her difficult to watch for a number of years but its been great to see her come back and looking like shes enjoying her tennis again

Guangzhou was the WTA tournament that Laura Robson was runner up in 2012.That was the breakthrough for our players as our  previous WTA finalist before that was JoDurie in 1990. At least we did not have to wait another 22 years.

i remember watching that - she lost to Su-wei - who is still playing,  remarkably.

In the semi's Laura had beaten the still active Sorana Cirstea.

Oh that's brilliant, well done Harriet

Now showing as live ranked 83. 4 GB women in the top 100 is a fairly rare beast and we also have Emma holding fort just outside at live ranked 106.

Harriet was WR 171 at the end of May, so another GB woman with a really strong second half of the year already before weighing in with this!

It's not a deal-breaer, and she's not the only one (indeed, Marion too), but it's not endearing (for me) that Harriet chooses to live in Dubai, fiscally at any rate i.e. when she's not travelling

Evo was or is the same?

Marion also lives in Dubai it says.

I posted 'indeed, Marion too'

And, yes, Evo. And, yes, Edmond in the Bahamas, wasn't it?

But that doesn't improve it - although it's understandable - I'm not pointing a finger

Just saying she won't get my PoM if she doesn't pay her GB taxes (and Evo and Edmond didn't either - well, Evo might have once, to be honest, but it was pushing it)

Tax paying (or lack of it) is causing an upset, not you.

I don't know what else you've done, though, Jonboy, I can't talk for that smile

Nobody seemed troubled about where Harriet lived until she had the biggest win of her career.

That's the whole point, though - swings and roundabouts

Provide your evidence that she's living in Dubai for tax reasons. Or your just as bad as the American President at making claims without evidence.

I'm saying she's living in Dubai as the BBC says so
And that people in Dubai do not pay income tax
Which is a major incentive , empirically
And her residence there is why she is not paying uk tax, obviously
That's what I'm saying and that's all I need
You can think what you like, of course, on Trump too if you wish

Nb if she is fiscally resident in the UK, I'll happily vote for her in the PoM - she did great
