Harriet's 1st serve went missing in the 2nd half of the 2nd set but apart from that it was a pretty impressive performance, with Harriet hitting some very good forehand winners.
That's a great win. I knew it was an opportunity for Harriet but you always fear the serve will go missing. The 1st game of the 3rd set was a battle, possibly the key game.
Great to see from Harriet, she's certainly climbed back up the rankings with some good wins. She started the year WR 169 and was still WR 171 at the end of May.
Now as said, here she has defended 72 of her 75 W75 title points from this week last year, and for now is actually up 3 places to live ranked 112. And has a solitary 1 net point due off for the remainder of this year.
Can she close in on the top 100, indeed by the time the Aus Open main draw entry list comes out?

If she beats Badosa, then she is on the verge of the top 100.
She is entered for Chennai next week and that is not usually very strong, so great chances
When was the last time we had 5 women in the main draw of a Grand Slam by ranking?
No idea. But I know that we haven't had 5 women in the top 100 this century. Harriet is doing so well and Emma is hanging in at WR 104 ( live ranked 103 ) with no more ranking points to come off this year but no doubt not going to be playing either.

Emma will need to hit the ground running when she does come back, hopefully in January. Last year she started off with a WTA QF in Jan, R2 in the Australian Open and a WTA250 final in Feb.
Harriet broke at 4-3*. Got to match point but double faulted (she went for a big slice down the middle and went just wide - it wasn't like a nervy double).
5-4*
Badosa struggling physically but just smacking everything.
