Week 43 - WTT W75 - Glasgow, Great Britain - Indoor Hard

Hannah got very frustrated with a line call which went against her, but responded brilliantly with two straight aces.

Now 6-3, 3-1 up

The German girl is very handy. Has some decent weapons but Hannah just has the extra touches of class at times

Desperately hoping we get a Hannah vs Alicia final, they met in the quarters or semis (can't remember which) at a Nottingham ITF in July with Alicia winning but that was the first week I really noticed Hannah's growing maturity and consistency in her play and she's only gotten better since

Yes I'd expect Hannah to win, but Alicia's very crafty and a bit of an unorthodox game style in some ways. She dealt with Mika very handily not that long ago

Hannah seals the match in style with an Ace, another excellent professional performance

Great match. Hannah is now so great to watch. In that 7th game of the second set, which Brockmann played very well, Hannah would just not let go. Fighting for everything, she was like a caged animal waiting for the serve, sticking in with every point, and eventually winning the game. She's relishing every point and it shows.

I think we shall have to call her two set Hannah! Would she win if it went to three sets? Cant see us finding that out in this tournament, me thinks this young lady needs a bit tougher competition moving forward.

Hannah didn't look particularly full of vim and vigour today - obviously skinning her hand didn't help ! Very sore.

But she really buckled down and made sure to get the job done

Brockmann helped by playing particularly poorly at certain key moments (the opposite of Hannah, in fact)

But the result wasn't really in doubt

Hannah gave Crawley a bit of a drubbing in the first round of Wrexham. 6-2, 6-2, although it was a bit closer than the score suggested.

It's the professional business-like manner of her performances that has been so eye catching, she rarely seems to be trying too hard now and it's mightily impressive for someone so young

Think Hannah is probably playing at top 100 level right now. Long may it continue. It will be interesting when she regularly starts to play people ranked in the top 100.

On that note would Alicia have to sacrifice this tournament at all in order to make Angola?

Fly into Dubai out of Edinburgh in the evening and direct flight from Dubai the next morning.
