Yes, Hope and expect that she will rest from playing if she feels it necessary. But I believe that it's a delicate balance. She needs to maintain a level of match readiness, i.e. it's possible she could rest too much. She'll have learned a lot about what she's capable of and her physical limitations in the last year.

Swan marches on, winning 7-5 6-0. Southpaw Yao, to her credit, turned the 1st set into a slugfest, displaying tremendous stickability and weight of shot when under pressure in the rally. Swan also made more errors than usual, in what was a bit of a topsy-turvy set. At 5-5 it was a toss-up as to who would prevail, but crucially Swan held serve, and then broke Yao's serve to love in what was a poor game for the Chinese player. It looked like Yao was beginning to suffer physically, her match yesterday was over 3hrs in length, beating her seeded compatriot. The 2nd set was altogether more comfortable for Swan, with Yao not having the same zip about the court and making errors when pushed out wide. Katie seemed to be moving well and was content to turn defence into attack, at 3-0 up the match was going her way. So it proved.
