Interesting fact ahead of Swan's semi-final match against China's Han Shi :

- Total singles matches played in 2026 :

- Katie Swan : 47 [70% win]
- Han Shi : 98 [71% win]

- Total doubles matches played in 2026 :

- Katie Swan : 7 [29% win]
- Han Shi : 42 [57% win]

140 ... That's a lot of matches played.

What made me ponder this was the way Swan's Chinese opponent Xinxin Yao in the previous round, was walking after the first set, and generally between the games. You couldn't say she had a spring in her step, that's for sure. Yao's 2026 singles match tally is 82.

Just manually counting from their WTA site singles matches activity for individual tournanents in 2026, including qualifying and their 3 wins each so far here but excluding Katie's United Cup loss at the start of the year.

Katie - yes, 47 matches, won 33 (70%), from 18 tournaments, 6 at WTA 125 level or above.

Han Shi - yes, 98 matches, won 70 (71%), from 33 tournaments, 8 at WTA 125 level or above.

Not sure where the AI respective 7 and 10 tournaments comes from. If for instance you then go to ITF W100 and above, it come to 9 and 12 respectively. Different time period?

indiana, for clarity, the numbers in my post above were taken directly from the ITF website. Thanks for adding the tournament numbers too, 33 tournaments in 2026 for Han Shi makes for a long ol' season.

The other reply to B00thy, was just me sounding off about AI-data, and wasn't meant to be taken as gospel. I specified 2026, but as TA says perhaps ambiguity around whether qualifying entry counts towards tournament participation impacts the AI-assisted numbers returned.
