Tim lost against Andy today so the situation becomes slightly different as he can't gain any more places.

The best case scenario is for him to remain where he is, at 59th, one up on last week and a return to the top 60.

However the two qualifiers, Sanguinetti and Lee are beginning to loom large so we really need them to lose their next matches.

With the fall of Benneteau to Acasuso the only person left in on the table is Sanguinetti so all pins directed at him please, he will overtake Tim if he wins against Nieminen.

So best case this week is Sanguinetti going out, Tim gaining 1 place overall to re-enter the top 60 and claim his place at 59.

Worst case is Sanguinetti winning, Tim ending the week where he started at 60th.

Not a good start. Sanguinetti won the first 6-3

but he's 2-4 down in the second.

But, he has three break back points on the Nieminen serve, and takes the first . Come on Jarkko.

Well. Jarkko took the second set 63.

And he's up a break early in the third, leading 2-1.

Dare I say the pins are beginning to take effect of will that jinx it?

Well, it nearly jinxed it. Nieminen finally won 12-10 in the tiebreak after Sanguinetti had a number of match points. Phew!

So Tim ends the week at number 59. One place up on last week. Hopefully a kind draw next week and a bigger leap up the rankings.
