Alan is really comiting to getting points out of the futures circuit after a bad run at challenger level. It looks like he has a good draw, as you would expect for the 2nd seed.
That's a pretty poor result for Alan. Parada has only been as high as 371 in the world but he's a clay-court specialist and beat Andy Murray in 2005. However, he's only had limited success in futures this year reaching 1 semi and several quarters so I would have thought the match would be a lot closer than 3 and 2.
Alan must be quite disappointed as he's been one of the top seeds for the last couple of weeks and would have expected to have done a lot better than two quarter-finals.
He's earned 4 points from the last two weeks and so assuming that he has no points to defend his ranking will rise from 369 to approx 359.
