RE: ATP Bangkok: Henman v Srichapan

Tim is broken and Sri leads 3-2 in the second. It was going to happen really as Tim was labouring with his service games whilst PS wizzed through his.

Tim's 2-4 down in set 2, he's just saved several bps.

Tim holds for 3-4

Now lets hope he can break back, he's not come close to breaking yet in this set

Henman 7-6 3-4 Srichaphan
It is all Srichaphan at the moment as Henman struggles and the unforced error count is rising. But Henman saves one break point and seizes the initiative with a smash and a cross-court forehand to win the game.

Henman 7-6 2-4 Srichaphan
Srichaphan has upped his game and is coming up with the big points at the right time and he makes the most of his break in the previous game to torment Henman further.

Henman 7-6 2-3 Srichaphan
Henman is looking a bit off-key and it is no surprise when he goes two break points down. He saves one but Srichaphan converts the second to give him the break and put him in with a chance of levelling the match.

Henman 7-6 2-2 Srichaphan
After the drama of the two previous service games, it is plain sailing for Srichaphan but blink and you would have missed it. He serves three aces in a row at the start of the game and although Henman gets to his fourth serve of the game, he can do nothing with it.

Henman 7-6 2-1 Srichaphan
It is the turn of Henman to struggle with his serve after building up a 30-0 lead. Srichaphan gets a break point opportunity but Henman saves it with some cheeky play at the net. After the scare he comes through safely but it has been a tricky game for the Briton.

Henman 7-6 1-1 Srichaphan
Srichaphan is struggling and is almost trying too hard to do something with the ball. The crowd are starting to get worried about their hero but after a few deuces he eventually comes through, much to the crowd's delight.

Henman 7-6 1-0 Srichaphan
No problems for Henman as he starts the second set the perfect way on his own serve as he bids to reach the last four.

First set:

Henman 7-6 Srichaphan
Henman gets the mini-break early but he is immediately pegged back. Srichaphan struggles badly with his serve and makes some unforced errors to leave Henman 5-2 ahead. The Briton controls matters to wrap up the set on his opponent's serve.

Henman 6-6 Srichaphan
A third double fault by Henman and some brave running by Srichaphan puts the home favourite 30-0 up. But Henman is allowed to respond and an entertaining rally with some excellent defence allows the Briton to win the point at the net and force the tie-break.

S takes the set 6-4. He was the better player in that set.

Hopefully Tim can turn it around in the final set and re-find his form.

Henman really needs to reassert himself on this match and get off to a good start in this set:

He's done that with a hold to 15

7-6, 4-6, 1-0

S double faults to go 0-15 down and Henman now has a half-chance at 15-30

15-40 !!!!

Tim moves to 15-40 on S's serve to gain his first break points since the first game of the match.

An Ace saves the first...

but he can't emulate it and Tim breaks to lead 2-0 in the final set

S saves the 1st with an ace but Henman takes the 2nd and now leads 2-0

Just what was needed
