The table's updated. Tim advances to 53rd (only 2 up on the week so far)

Becker  also advances

Safin & Monaco  go out.

Here's the updated possibilities:

If Tim Wins in Tokyo, he can jump 21 placesfrom 53rd up to 34thNo One  could overtake.

If Tim reaches the Finals, he can jump 14 places to 39th. Threats are: Melzer(needs to reach the Final,Metz), Clement, Fish(must Win, Metz). A max of two can overtake. Worst case is then up 12 to 41st.

If Tim reaches the Semis, he can jump 9 places to 46th. Threats are: Melzer(S, Metz), Lee (S, Tokyo), Clement, Fish (both F, Metz), Serra(W, Metz).  A max of three can overtake, giving a worst case of up 6 to 43rd.

If Tim loses in the Quarters, today, the threats are: Clement, Fish (both S, Metz), Serra(F, Metz), Gicquel(W, Metz), Becker(W, Tokyo). 4 can overtake, so worst case is dropping back to 57th.

Pins into Melzer, Lee, Clement & Fish!!!

Edit:updated for Becker & Monaco

Lee's  through.  Tim will have to beat him in the semi- final to be able to move ahead of him now.

Fish is a set up against Melzer (6-1).

So looking good if Tim wins (goes ahead of a losing Melzer), bad if he loses (a winning Fish overtakes)

Tim won!

He's level on points with Melzer - does he go above or below in that case?

Above!  Tim has more points from Masters & Grand Slams than does Melzer.

I've updated the table.

Soooooo....That puts Tim at WR 47, but if Melzer wins in Metz, he drops back to 48.

It's now 1 set all between Fish & Melzer: Come on Mardy!!

Lee, Becker and Gicquel also advance.  Clement plays later. Rochus  can't overtake anymore!

Grrrrrr. Melzer  wins, and Tim's back down to 48th.  Just Clement (vs Grosjean) to go today.

I make him 47th, and that is what you have on your table too?

the table's from before Melzer got to the semis in Metz - 75 points, giving a total of 805, & knocking Tim back down one. I'll update again when they've finished in Metz & Mons for the day

That explains it - I have managed to miss out all the Metz results!

Comes of being out most of the day/following Boggo's match while trying to make a meal at the same time/ just being plain stupid!

That's all the results from Metz in. the table's updated.

Tim, Melzer, Lee, Becker and Gicquel  advance

Clement, Fish, Serra, Rochus and Monaco go out.

Which means:

If Tim Wins in Tokyo, he jumps 14 places from 48th up to 34thNo One could overtake.

If Tim reaches the Finals, he can jump 9 places to 39th. Threats are: Melzer(needs to reach the Final,Metz). Worst case is then up 8 to 40th.

If Tim loses to Lee in the Semis,  he stays at 48th. Threats are:  Becker (needs to win in Tokyo). Worst case is down 1 to 49th.

So pins into Lee (of course) and  Melzer and Becker

The table's updated - and extended up to #30

Tim moves up to 39th.

If Tim Beats Federer in Tokyo tomorrow, he jumps 14 places from 39th up to 34thNo One could overtake.

If Tim loses in the Final, he stays at 39th. Melzer(needs to reach the Final in Metz) can overtake him, if so, he drops 1 to 40th

So all pin attention onto Melzer, today, then Federer tomorrow.

Melzer-Gicquel will be an interesting one: Melzer has had the better results so far in Metz, he beat Safin in 3 sets in rd2. However, when they played in New Haven this year, Gicquel won 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.

It's no good: Melzer beat Gicquel, to go ahead of Tim again. Tim's down to 40th. Tim's just going to have to beat Federer, to stop the Austrian from being able to overtake.
