Why is it that I can't remember who beat Jessica Ren in Eddie Herr? Was it Laura Dobson?
I think Joanne Henderson has been the u12s LTA #1 for quite a while. Mostly because Jessica Ren does deign to play amongst the other children, I would imagine. It'll be interesting to see how she fairs against international opposition. I notice that she's got through round 1 fairly comfortably, but I think she has a seed up next.
It was Laura Robson. Joanna is a very good prospect too. But nowhere near the other two, I believe. I guess that many of you saw her play in the Aberdeen Cup last year.
Jess doesn't play much in GB 12s because she is good enough to thump people in Europe in 14s. Laura is based in the US for the bigger part (I guess), so she isn't number one either.
It's a shame that those two are due to meet in the semis. That should be the final.
It's terrible that they are playing the finals in the semis. I hope that Jess will win this time.
No shame in losing to Orlik. Sian could have done with two or three more games. But Sian can play here next year too. Orlik will surely start playing ITFs on a full time basis by then.
I guess so, USM. Jocelyn Rae reached the finals though.
What's even more impressive is that the girls edition is played on clay. So Jess is equally comfortable on clay and hard ... and being British must mean that she has grass in her blood.
Grass in her blood hey? That sounds rather nasty. Hope it doesn't start to affect her game.
